National Addictions Awareness Week just ended (November 13th-November 19th). It is nice to read that our federal government is spending taxpayers' money toward a good cause. The Minister of Justice, Robert Nicholson, the Minister of Health, Leona Aglukkaq and the Minister of Public Safety, Vic Toews all contributed to the following announcement in honor of the nationally-recognized addictions awareness week: http://www.hc-sc.gc.ca/ahc-asc/minist/messages/_2011/2011_11_14-eng.php The three main areas of focus are the following:
1) Making treatment programs better
2) Making treatment for those with drug dependencies more accessible
3) Making programs which prevent or stop the production and distribution of illicit drugs
The government will continue with its National Anti-Drug Strategy called "DrugsNot4Me" Check out one of their videos: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h5zDhngIzF0 !!
